Anahata Yoga was designed to bring students to a higher level of awareness - to deeply connect, expand, and awaken their hearts: through asanas (yoga postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation.
~ Ana Costa

"It is slow but sure suicide to walk, sit, rest, talk, or lie down with a caved-in chest. The cells of the lungs become starved thereby, and maladjustments of the vertebrae often occur."
~ Paramahansa Yogananda

"The whole thing, the most difficult thing, is to wake the heart. Somehow one has to learn to be able to live in the heart, to judge from the heart, as ordinarily as we live in mechanical mind and judge from that. It is shifting the center of attention in oneself. for the movements of the heart are so quick that only if one can learn to live there for some time, is it possible to catch them as they pass and obey them. This also means that we have to learn to feed the heart, taking emotional impressions directly there; just as we now take knowledge directly into the mind..."
~ Rodney Collin, The Theory of Conscious Harmony

"It is something very close to you.   It is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can keep it."

    ~ D'varim 30:14

"He shall cover you with His feathers and under His wings you shall take refuge."

    ~ Psalm 91

Impermeability

And here's one of the troubles:
keeping so busy inside and out
that we define ourselves by the known,
the too well known,
the what-we-think-we-know known,
the misperceptions,
the misapprehensions,
the clever enunciations,
intelligent articulations,
a crisscross of wires
so thick
that no light shows through.
That's the trouble.
Becoming as dense as a traffic jam,
so the wind can't blow through.
No wonder God laughs
when we complain we can't
hear him.

~ Alice Klein

Let the Soul banish all that disturbs;
Let the Body that envelopes it be still,
And all the frettings of the Body,
And all that surrounds it.
Let Earth and Sea and Air be still
And Heaven itself.
And then let the Body think
Of the Spirit as streaming, pouring,
Rushing and shining into it from
All sides while it stands quiet.
~
Plotinus, 205

"True love is unconquerable and irresistible, it goes on gathering power and spreading itself, until eventually it ennobles everyone and everything it touches..."
~ Meher Baba

"When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and your discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be..."
~ Patanjali

"Some want to touch their toes. Others want to touch the God within."
~ Lilias Folan

Body rests like a mountain
Breath moves like the sea
Heart like the sky
~ Julie Anderson

"I am nearer to you than your own breath. Remember Me and I am there with you, and My Love will guide you."

  ~ Meher Baba

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls,
for my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"
~ St. Matthew
(Yoke and yoga share a common root word in Sanskrit.)

Beloved Meher Baba!
Bless us all,
So that in the stress and strain of our daily life
and the fluctuations of our mind,
We learn to relax, wholly and whole-heartedly,
and float on the ocean of Your Love,
and call for Your breath of joy,
Your breeze of compassion,
and Your wind of strength
To flow into
Every fibre of our body,
Every corner of our mind,
and every space of our heart,
To cleanse us of all our impurity
and make us worthy
Of Your Love,
Of Your Obedience,
Of Your Service,
and, above all, of Your Pleasure.
~ Adi K. Irani

A Beautifully Flowing River

Mind and heart must work together. Mind without heart is like a river bed without water - lifeless and dry. Heart without mind is like a river without banks - the water, having nowhere to flow becomes a swamp. Mind and heart working toether is a beautifully flowing river, lovely to behold.

Learn to relax, wholly and wholeheartedly...
